Unsouled (Cover) – Neal Shusterman

UnSouled (Unwind, #3)I have no idea how long this cover has been out, I just saw it on goodreads while I was scrolling through and just decided that I HAVE TO TALK ABOUT THIS.

This is kind of giving me Fullmetal Alchemist:Brotherhood deja vu because you know that bit where SPOILERS they walk into the room full of those weird white soldiers that they made for the military, and they’re all just hanging from the walls and they’re mega creepy and like bleed green blood (I can’t really remember it exactly but I do remember that it was so damn creepy)?

Well yeah, that’s what this reminded me of.

If you don’t get that reference, then let’s just say I’m kind of terrified by this cover.

That, plus the title UNSOULED is just so awesome.

And so creepy.

Seriously, I don’t know if I would be able to sleep at night knowing that cover was right there (on a side note, I love the american covers. The new UK covers are really ugly in comparison).

So I’m intrigued to know what it means, the sleeping heads on the wall and the one awake one that’s just staring out all creepy, and oh my god the more I look at it the more I get creeped out.

By the way, I love the font they use for the title.

So yeah! Creepy ass cover! It’s going to be amazing, I hope, and good job designer for being better than the UK designer!

If you want a comparison:

Here is the new UK cover for Unwind:

And here is the american cover for Unwind:

Sure, the UK one is striking and bold and probably attracts a different audience’s attention and stuff but COME ON! THE AMERICAN ONE IS SO MUCH PRETTIER.

Unwholly (Cover) – Neal Shusterman

Unwholly (Unwind, #2)Is this the real cover?

I have no idea, to be honest, but I just saw it on goodreads and decided it looks legitimate. I think it’s real. Actually, I’m 99.9% sure it’s real now. So let’s review it!

It’s really obvious that someone else took a picture of the book (An ARC, i think, as it says that in the top left of the picture, not that you guys can see. You’ll just have to trust me.) and uploaded that onto the internet. And it’s got the same colour scheme and writing and so on ,as the american cover (for those of you who haven’t seen the american cover, here it is)

UnwindI think I prefer the first cover more, it’s slightly more creepy in my opinion, with the whole faceless, zombie-esque person. I have a feeling this guy is Cam on the cover, since he doesn’t look anything like Connor or Lev in my head, and hopefully is not Risa. But it’s still awesomely creepy, and just makes me so excited. I can’t help it, I love this series.

And the summary looks awesome! It’s pretty long, just to warn you, but read it anyway.

“In a society where unwanted and troublesome teens are salvaged for their body parts, Connor, Risa and Lev continue to fight against the system that would ‘unwind’ them. Thanks to their high-profile revolt at the Happy Jack Harvest Camp, people can no longer turn a blind eye to unwinding. Ridding society of so-called troublesome teens might be convenient, but its morality has finally been brought into question and a new law passed. However, unwinding has become big business, and there are powerful political and corporate interests, not to mention the illegal ‘Parts Pirates’, that want to see it not only continue, but expand.
Connor, Risa and Lev each struggle to rescue as many AWOL teens as possible and offer them sanctuary. But life at the Graveyard is hard, rivalries bubble under the surface and the cracks are beginning to show.
And then there is Cam, a teen who does not exist. Made entirely out of parts from one hundred other ‘unwinds’, Cam is a 21st century Frankenstein, a rewound, struggling to find a true identity and meaning, and a place in society. But when a sadistic bounty hunter who takes “trophies” from all the ‘unwinds’ he captures starts to pursue Connor, Lev and Risa, Cam finds his own fate inextricably bound with theirs…”

Final Thoughts?

Well, I’m freaking excited about this book, my only worry is that it won’t be as good as the mindblowing first book. But I was worried in the same way for Everwild, and that proved to be awesome. And again with Everfound. I guess I just have to trust Neal Shusterman in being the awesome writer he is and making this awesome. Urgh! I want to read it so bad!

And if you came here and just read through all this and don’t know whether to read Uwind or not? GO READ IT! NOW! GO! GO GO GO GO GO!

Also, did any of you see the short film MainstayPro made for Unwind? I loved it. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, go ahead and look them up. They made a ton of videos for the Hunger Games before the movie came out as well.

Sorry, that was really random, but I guess I’m a pretty random person. Ah well.
