WARNING CONTAINS SPOILERS FROM PREVIOUS BOOKS, probably!
This book has to be one of the best books in the gone series! It is literally stunning! It is full of gore, violence and action! It is just amazing! (note. if you are a slightly squeamish reader…, it would probably be a good idea NOT to read this series…). This book is the fourth in the gone series by Michael Grant. The earlier books are Gone, Hunger and Lies, and the books after it are Fear and Light (which I can’t wait to read!). Usually I avoid reading books that are part of a long series… because I am one of those people who have a short attention span…, so I kinda get bored/ zone out/ can’t be bothered… to read a long series… But these books are AMAZING! You will not regret it once you have started reading the series! Well… unless… you don’t like books with a lot of violence and ickey (and by ickey, I mean stuff like blood and bones…)…- in which case, as I mentioned above…, don’t bother reading the series!
Well as you can probably tell from the title… there is a PLAGUE! And by that I mean, there is a massive flu that is spread around! BUT remember… this is the FAYZ! and nothing normal happens in the FAYZ! So of course… the plague isn’t normal… And I’ll just leave it at that!- it’s some inspiration for you to read the book! (note. you may want to have a bucket besides you when you read this). Also, note. don’t read this book when you have a cold or a stomach ache… 😀
I actually don’t know why, but I can’t think of any cons… Which is strange… as this isn’t one of my long lasting favourite books…, which I can think of cons for… I guess it is just a book that I think is AWESOME!
It was so so so good! But that is in my opinion, as I love books with a good bit of blood and guts (in this case, literally). It made the book thrilling and heart- racing! Just amazing! It was just described so life like and it made my skin shiver and get goosebumps just thinking about it!
The Heart- raceness of it
Is that a word?- heart- raceness?… Oh well! I’ll just hope you get the picture! I just love how he writes it! It’s like I’m there. In the FAYZ. With the characters. Just astounding. At some parts of the book it literally made my heart speed up and my forehead began to sweat! Also some parts literally made my skin crawl thinking about it, like the part with Dekka. I sat there hugging myself for about half and hour after, thinking “It’s not real. It’s can’t happen. It’s won’t be real” and then the other half of me thinking “WHAT HAPPENS IF THE FAYZ HAPPENS RIGHT NOW??? I can feel them growing. I can imagine then worming about… ” It was such a creepy moment…
The awkward moment when Caine can’t fix what he promised
It was such a funny moment! He was like “THE ENEMY WILL STAND NO CHANCE AGAINST ME AND MY TELEKINESIS SKILZ” then he was like “DAMN THIS FAYZ. I CAN’T KILL THEM. MY POPULARITY WILL FALL TO THE CENTRE OF THE EARTH.” He was so funny! Definitely one of my favourite characters!
- “The gaiaphage. That’s the other word they use. ‘Gaia,’ as in world. ‘Phage,’ as in a worm or something that eats something up. I’m going to go way out on a limb here and say I don’t think something that calls itself a ‘world eater’ is a good thing.”
- “Okay, look. I get it. You’re one of those people who thinks they have to help screwed-up people. Or maybe you’re attracted to dangerous, unbalanced people. But listen up: I’m not Edward and you’re not Bella” (said by Lana)
Overall I would say that this book is pretty good. But just because I can’t think of any cons doesn’t mean that this is the best book that I have ever read (Do you kinda get what I mean?- I don’t!). I would say that this is probably a four and a quarter shuriken star, but since we only do the rating system as halfs or wholes, lets say we round it up!, because I am somehow in a good mood today!, So probably a four and a half shuriken star book!
